We’ve been in the dairy business for four generations.  We had the misfortune a few years ago  of having a barn fire.  We could let the hey burn, but our main concern was that we could get our livestock to safety.  By the time we started opening gates to let the heifers out, the first fire truck had already arrived.

Approximately 300,000 gallons of water were hauled to our farm. There were water trucks coming and going as fast as they could, as well as support people and other trucks. It was a very organized event. They were able to save ¾ of the heifer barn and all of our heifers. Everything flowed very smoothly and was coordinated well.

I’m convinced that the Bridgewater Fire Company helped save our barn and our heifers as well because of their organization and their quick response time.
