The Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company is a close-knit team of well-trained professionals. Our members include certified firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics. Since 2010, we have been designated as an Advanced Life Support Agency, and have had the privilege of saving lives in extreme medical situations.
We serve a 44-square mile area that includes the towns of Dayton, Bridgewater and Mt. Crawford. When we receive a call and are dispatched by the 911 call center, it is our goal to leave the station within just two minutes. Good training, leadership, discipline and clear communication are priorities for us as we respond to calls rapidly and with precision. An added benefit of our location in the heart of the Town of Bridgewater is a lower insurance rating for local property owners, which translates to lower insurance payments.
Our emergency services include:
- Fire suppression and protection
- Water rescues
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Weather-related emergencies
- Medical emergencies
We provide emergency services to over 13,000 residents and thousands of employees at locations including Blue Ridge Christian School, Bridgewater College, Bridgewater Retirement Community, Turner Ashby High School and Wilbur Pence Middle School, Bridgewater Air Park, Cargill, Marshalls, Walmart Distribution Center, and numerous churches, banks, farms, small businesses and restaurants.
We assign additional volunteer firefighters to remain on-site at the station when severe weather, such as a hurricane or blizzard, threatens our service area. We exist to provide every possible aid to those who need our help.
We are family. Our community is our family. We serve and protect our community.
